An interaction program featuring Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members and Lakhpati Didis took place today at the International Indoor Exhibition Hall in Hapania.
Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attended the event, which celebrated the remarkable journeys and success stories of women involved in Self-Help Groups. These women have made significant strides through entrepreneurship and community initiatives.

Prime Minister’s Statement on Women’s Empowerment
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public gathering in New Delhi to mark International Women’s Day, referring to significant advancements in women’s empowerment. He noted the government’s initiative aimed at helping three crore women attain financial independence under the “”Lakhpati Didi”” program.
The Prime Minister expressed pride in achieving this milestone, noting that over three crore women have now reached this status. He acknowledged initial skepticism about the government’s commitment but reaffirmed the fulfillment of their promise.
